I am facing a weird issue with Text Editor in Ubuntu 24.04. Most of the words in the editor are underlined by red dots, which seems ugly. Is there any way to fix it easily?

You see words underlined by red dots because of wrong spelling of the words or some undefined/unknown words. You need to disable spelling check to remove those red dots.

Here are the steps:

  • In the text editor, you will find Settings wheel icon on the right-top side. Click on the Settings wheel icon.
  • On the pop-up menu, you will find "Check Spelling" enabled by default. Disable it and all red dots will be gone.
The pop-up menu will look like the following image.
